The idea of selling your data may seem silly at first, but hear me out. We all know that companies collect data about us every time we visit a website or use apps on our phones and other devices. What you may not know is that you can actually get paid for your data!

Yes – it’s not just big companies who can profit from selling people’s information.

You can too!

That’s what today’s post is all about. Below, I’ll give you a list of apps and websites where you can sell your data.

Some of these are apps that you simply install and then they collect your data, and you get paid. Others collect data and information from you through surveys, and some offer a mix.

Here are some money making apps where you can essentially sell your data to earn money.

1. MobileXpression

MobileXpression is a market research community that’s focused on improving the mobile internet. With the app, you can earn rewards by sharing your mobile surfing activity with MobileXpression. Install, the app, keep it active, and you will earn credits. You can redeem these credits for gift cards.

2. Nielsen Mobile App (Nielsen Computer & Mobile Panel)

With the Nielsen Mobile app, you can be part of the research Nielsen does. Basically, you download the app, and by participating, you help Nielsen to understand how consumers use the internet and their mobile devices.

4. SavvyConnect

Next on the list we have SavvyConnect, which is an app from SurveySavvy. Install SavvyConnect on your phone, tablet, and/or PC, and then just surf the web as you normally would. You can earn $5 a month for each device the app is installed on. You can also receive additional research opportunities that pay higher rewards.

5. Swagbucks

Swagbucks gives you points for taking polls and answering surveys. You can cash out your points for money to your PayPal account or you can get a gift card with lots of options available, like Amazon gift cards.

The best part about Swagbucks is that you can cash out your earnings for as little as $1 to $5 depending on the payment option you choose. 7. Eureka

Next on the list we have Eureka. This is an app that pays you for sharing information through surveys. A couple of data collection apps that are no longer around

Okay, so there are a couple of companies that used to pay you for your data, but, sadly, they are no longer around:

  • Datacoup – In 2019, Datacoup sent an email to users telling them that it was shutting down operations and decommissioning all of its servers.
  • Smart Panel – The company states on its website that it’s closing down its research study.

So, if you have heard about these companies, and were wondering if they still paid for data, then sadly, they don’t. Just try out the options on our list above instead.
